PREMIUM TRAVEL EXPERTS · DESIGN REVIEW
OUT & AWAY
EXTRAORDINARY JOURNEYS. PERSONALLY PLANNED.

Out and Away, evolved. The luxury magazine design stays, and the publication’s original purpose comes back to the center: a sophisticated LGBTQ+ travel magazine for Premium Travel Experts’ clients, curated by Carlos. One recognizable monthly publication, two reusable layouts, and a December 2026 issue ready for review.

Design prototypes only. Nothing here has been sent, published, or connected to any live system. No fares, availability, testimonials, or supplier benefits were invented, and no trips Carlos has not taken are described as taken. French Polynesia (October 2027) and Egypt (March 2028) are written as anticipation, because that is what they are.

December 2026 · Dreaming of Somewhere Wonderful

The first candidate issue in the redesigned format, built on the new editorial strategy.

A French Polynesia cover, a 69 word note from Carlos, and the full recurring skeleton in action: the LGBTQ+ Travel Spotlight visits Puerto Vallarta and the Zona Romántica, a place Carlos and Chris love enough to call home part of the year, with a verified guide linked for readers who want more. The LGBT Trip Hub makes its standing appearance, followed by the new permanent section, LGBTQ+ Trips Worth Discovering: Tryst’s maiden voyage, timed to its late November booking opening, and OUT Adventures’ India Holi journey, verified from $9,195 with only a few spots left at the November check. Carlos’s Pick is the French Polynesia countdown, written honestly: the hosted sailing is fully booked, and the invitation is to plan your own version. Something Fun asks one December question with three tap to answer options, and The Difference closes the issue.

Recommended subject: Dreaming of somewhere wonderful
Also drafted: “Out and Away: December, and a year of journeys ahead” · “Puerto Vallarta, French Polynesia, and one December question”
Preview text: Puerto Vallarta in the spotlight, our French Polynesia countdown, the LGBT Trip Hub, and one very important December question.

Layout 1 · The Travel Inspiration Layout

For destination led months: inspiration, lifestyle, and fun, with the LGBTQ+ identity throughout.

Revised, not rebuilt. The Positano cover, the note, Carlos’s Picks, Beyond the Cruise, and Worth Exploring all stay. New in this revision: the LGBTQ+ Travel Spotlight (Puerto Vallarta, with a verified read more guide), the compact LGBT Trip Hub block that now appears in every issue, the permanent Trips Worth Discovering section, and corrected framing in the picks. French Polynesia and Egypt are written as the adventures ahead that they are, never as trips already taken. A labeled master template of this layout is in the ZIP.

Recommended subject: Places we cannot stop thinking about
Also drafted: “Out and Away: Bora Bora, Egypt, and a safari” · “The Travel Inspiration Edition”
Preview text: Bora Bora, Egypt, a safari, and the new luxury at sea. A few places we cannot stop thinking about, picked by Carlos.

Layout 2 · The Special Journeys Layout

For journey led months: a hosted group trip or one extraordinary opportunity up front.

Egypt still leads, with verified facts only and the real group registration button. New in this revision: the intro is now a proper Note from Carlos, a Spotlight on the joy of LGBTQ+ group travel joins the issue, and the LGBT Trip Hub block takes its standing place before the closing photograph and Personal Invitation. French Polynesia remains inspiration only. A labeled master template of this layout is in the ZIP.

The editorial strategy

One publication. Every month. Unmistakably Out and Away.

What every issue keeps

  • The opening: one stunning photograph, the OUT & AWAY masthead, a headline worth scrolling for.
  • A Note from Carlos: 50 to 75 words, warm and personal. Anticipation is honest; invented memories are not allowed.
  • LGBTQ+ Travel Spotlight: one short, verified story each month, welcoming destinations, gay neighborhoods, Pride, cruises, culture, with a real read more link.
  • The LGBT Trip Hub: the standing block, compact and recognizable, linking to the live hub at premiumtravelexperts.com/lgbtq-trips.
  • Carlos’s Picks: one or two experiences he is genuinely excited about, visited or anticipated, labeled by the writing itself.
  • LGBTQ+ Trips Worth Discovering: two or three real, verified, bookable trips each month, operators rotated (VACAYA, Atlantis, Brand g, OUT Adventures, Tryst, and friends), compact cards that point back to the Trip Hub for the full collection.
  • Travel With Carlos & Chris: the hosted journeys (French Polynesia 2027, Egypt 2028, Antarctica 2029) rotate through the year, and a sold out sailing is never presented as available.
  • One rotating delight: Beyond the Cruise, Worth Exploring, or Something Fun, so no two issues feel the same.
  • The close: The Difference section in inspiration months, the Personal Invitation in journey months. Either way: one photo, one elegant block, one button.

How a month gets made

Carlos sends a few travel ideas, upcoming trips, and any important news. The issue is then drafted from the master template of the right layout, facts and links are verified, and Carlos approves the exact send before anything is pasted into Maxx Creator. The full checklist and guardrails live in the editorial calendar document in the ZIP.

Email compatibility

Table based layouts, inline styles, a 640 pixel column that collapses cleanly on phones, the same construction that pastes into Maxx Creator’s source view. Most photography is hosted at full URLs; local images travel in the ZIP’s assets folder and would be uploaded to Maxx Media in production.

Outstanding, not yet done: real inbox rendering tests in Gmail, Apple Mail, and Outlook. Browser previews cannot certify those clients, so they are flagged here rather than claimed.
