One of my favorite things about travel is discovering places and experiences that stay with you long after you have returned home.

This month, I have picked a few destinations that I think are especially worth dreaming about. I hope one of them inspires your next adventure.

Some places welcome you. Puerto Vallarta pulls up a chair. Its Zona Romántica packs dozens of gay bars, beach clubs, and gay owned hotels into a few walkable blocks, the south end of Playa de los Muertos is one of the world’s great gay beaches, and Vallarta Pride takes over the town every May. Chris and I love Puerto Vallarta so much that we bought a home there. It’s one of those places we never get tired of returning to, and one I always enjoy introducing to other travelers.

OCT 31 TO NOV 6, 2027 · TRYST CRUISES

A brand new all gay cruise line launches with a full ship Halloween charter on Celebrity Beyond, roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale to Puerto Plata, Samaná, and Nassau. A costume party opens the week, the World Famous Tryst Drag Brunch is on the schedule, and a closing party at a private Bahamas beach club ends it. Reservations open in late November, just as this issue lands, with Founder Rates reserved for list members and payment plans from $99 per person down. MAR 12 TO 23, 2027 · OUT ADVENTURES

A 12 day small group journey through Rajasthan with OUT Adventures, 20 guests at most: Delhi, the Taj Mahal at sunrise, Jaipur’s Pink City, and Holi itself, celebrated at a local family’s home in Udaipur. FRENCH POLYNESIA

An overwater bungalow, a lagoon in a dozen shades of blue, and mornings that start with coffee on your own deck above the water. French Polynesia sits at the very top of my own travel list, and in October 2027 Chris and I finally get to experience it ourselves. Until then, it is the place I dream about most, and the one I most love planning for clients.

EGYPT & THE NILE

Sailing the Nile between Luxor and Aswan, you pass temples that have stood for thousands of years and villages that carry on as they always have. It is the journey I am most looking forward to: in March 2028, Chris and I experience it while hosting a small group of our travelers, and I already know it will stay with me.

LUXURY OCEAN CRUISING

A new generation of smaller, all-suite ships has quietly changed what a cruise can feel like: space, calm, and service that learns your name. Having sailed lines like Explora Journeys myself, it is the version of cruising I recommend most often now.

We plan far more than cruises. A safari pairs early morning game drives and wildlife you will never forget with beautiful lodges, sundowners, and evenings under more stars than you knew existed. For many of our clients, it becomes the trip every other trip is measured against.

Not every great trip needs an itinerary. The right luxury all inclusive resort, adults only, toes in the sand, dinner you will talk about on the flight home, can be exactly the reset you needed. The difference is choosing the right resort, and that is where we come in.
